Sound familiar?

Every launch has its paperwork.

  • You announce a signed edition, and your inbox turns into the order book.
  • The launch reading is full, and people keep writing to ask if a seat comes free.
  • Names from the last reading are on a sheet of paper somewhere in a drawer.
  • Your newsletter goes to everyone, though only some of them want the signed copy.
How it works

From announcement to signed copy, in order.

  1. 01

Make a page for the book or reading

Cover, a few lines, facts like copies and publication month. Ask for the name to sign it to, or which reading they want.
  2. 02

    Share it with your readers

In your newsletter, on social media, as a printed QR code at the bookshop counter or on the back page of the last book.
  3. 03

    Readers see their place

Everyone gets a status page with their place in line, so nobody needs to write to ask if they made it.
  4. 04

    Offer copies or seats

Offer up to 50 spots per tap, as many rounds as you have copies; each reader gets 72 hours to accept. Someone passes? Offer their copy to the next reader with one tap.
Made for book launches

Everything a book waitlist needs.

  • A question for the dedication

Ask for the name to sign it to, the edition or the reading date. Up to six questions, each required or optional.

  • First come or by lottery

Reward the readers who were quick, or let a draw decide, with a random order fixed at sign-up.

  • Timed offers

The next readers get 24, 48 or 72 hours to accept or pass. Copies don’t sit reserved for weeks.

  • Seats for full readings

A waitlist for the sold-out reading. When someone drops out, offer the seat to the next reader in line.

  • Write to your readers

Publication date moved, reading in a new venue: one email to everyone waiting, or just to those you’ve offered a copy.

  • QR code for the bookshop

Print it for the counter, the reading or the back of the programme. Readers scan and they’re in line.

Questions

What authors and publishers ask us.

Can I use Waitlisted for a signed or limited edition?

Yes. Make a page for the edition and share the link. Readers see their place in line, and when copies are ready you offer them to the first in line with a timed offer to accept or pass.

Does Waitlisted handle the sale of the book?

No. Waitlisted keeps the list and sends the emails. Readers pay in your own shop, your publisher’s shop or at the bookshop, through the link or instructions you send them.

Our launch reading is fully booked. Can people wait for a seat?

Yes. Open a waitlist for the reading. When a seat frees up, offer it with one tap: the next person gets an email and a set time to say yes or pass.

Can readers ask for a personal dedication?

Yes. Add a short text question for the name to sign the book to. You see every answer in the list and can export it to CSV for the signing table.

Do readers need an account?

No. They sign up with their email and your questions and get a personal status link. No app, no password.

How much does it cost?

Setting up and building your pages is free. Going live costs €9.99 a month or €99 a year, for every book, edition and reading, with 5,000 announcement emails a month included (sign-up and spot emails always included). Readers never pay to join.

Your next book, signed for the readers who were first.
